William “Bill” Toomey has been an Olympic Gold Medalist, college track and field coach, television broadcaster, marketing consultant, senior corporate marketing executive, and start-up entrepreneur.
He won the Gold Medal in the Decathlon in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, set two world records in the decathlon, won five consecutive AAU Championships in the pentathlon, was a two-time All American in Track, and won 23 of the 38 decathlons he competed in at the international level. He was named ABC’s Wide World of Sports Athlete of the Year in 1968, received the James E. Sullivan Award from the Associated Press as the top amateur athlete in the United States in 1969, has been named California Athlete of the Year, and is a member of both the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and the Phi Delta Theta Sports Hall of Fame.
Mr. Toomey has served as a Peace Corp. volunteer, as a member of the President’s Commission on Olympic Sports, was a consultant to the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, and served as the Head of Fundraising for the United States Olympic Committee for many years. His career as a marketing consultant, senior corporate marketing executive, and entrepreneur spans five decades.
Mr. Toomey is currently the Founder of Toomey Health Products, a nutritional supplement company offering a specialized line of proprietary supplements to support overall health, and serves on other not-for-profit Boards of Directors.
